In this study, availability of waste heat from the heavy duty diesel engine which is applied HPL-EGR system and LPL-EGR system was evaluated based on second law of thermodynamics. And then, the maximum potential of waste heat recovery for brake thermal efficiency is estimated in each single-stage turbocharging system and second-stage turbocharging system.
